Trying to Create a mood of Desperation/Lamentation

Welcome to my next photography journey. When i took these shots, what i had in mind was a dramatic little girl facing extremely difficult and disturbing problems. hence a moody tonality of the picture is achieved by making it monochromatic. The balance of Black and White here is a little bit disturbed to give that mood.

  2. Do you know Despair?

Ahahah just going ala anime there.

Despair is more than just lack of colour and cages. If you want to see real despair, take a bus to Chow Kit and look for one of the drunk, homeless dudes there.

That's some of the many forms of despair.

Don't just think monochrome=sad. There are many happy monochrome potrait shots. What you want to capture is the reality of that picture.

  3. How Wei Ping says:

The dancer post and those about capturing melancholy. The poses are decent enough though sometimes the lighting mess with the faces and i aint no fan of emo stuff so i aint gonna say those are my favs. Anyways i prefer the ones of scenery or still life
