Trying to Create a mood of Desperation/Lamentation

Welcome to my next photography journey. When i took these shots, what i had in mind was a dramatic little girl facing extremely difficult and disturbing problems. hence a moody tonality of the picture is achieved by making it monochromatic. The balance of Black and White here is a little bit disturbed to give that mood.

The Mountains of Sabah

I took these pictures at one of the small village up on the mountain areas. It was around the mountain of Mount Kinabalu. My friend's Dad and Mum brought us here to eat the fruit they called Pulasan. Its a fantastic fruit that everyone should really try, though unfortunately it was said to be found only in Sabah. Damn...i miss that fruit.

KISS

"Keep It Simple Stupid!"

"If everything is of equal importance and focus, then nothing is important."

"Camera is an extension of your eye."

"If you are able to summarize what you want to say in a short but powerful sentence, then you fully understand what you intend to say."

( Mr. Che Ahmad Azhar Bin Fadzil, Specialist, Program Coordinator, and Lecturer of Photography of Multimedia Univesity Cyberjaya, 2008 and 2009 mentioned repeatedly)

I hate this guy. Seriously, i hate him, cost me alot of sleepless nights and near tears. Ironically most of his words are true to its core, hence the feelings i got towards him are of both Hatred and Admiration. A weird but powerful combination i would say.

"Keep It Simple Stupid!" - everything in a photography must be direct and simple. Do not waste time with unnecessary things which held no purpose in the process of telling the 'message'

"If everything is of equal importance and focus, then nothing is important." - just as how it sounds.

"Camera is an extension of your eye." - just as how it sounds.

"If you are able to summarize what you want to say in a short but powerful sentence, then you fully understand what you intend to say." - He said this in Design Fundamental 1, where a Design Statement should be no longer then a sentence. A simple and powerful sentence, often comes along with a metaphor, is highly needed in the process of delivering a message. Personally i use this piece of advice more into photography. If i am able to tell everything i intended to say in a simple but powerful photography, then i succeeded.

Picture Naming

"Naming your pictures is a very risky move, as viewers tend to read the title, and try to perceive your photo based on that title instead of admiring the picture by itself, mostly creating a confusion of message instead of what the photographer originally intended."

(Mr. Muhammad Jafni Jusof, Photography Assistant Lecturer of Multimedia University Cyberjaya, 2009 )

I receive this comment instantaneously when Mr.Jafni saw my photos for the first time in digital format during the time i consulted him in his room with my pendrive. I realized immediately from the eye of a trained photographer, it is very easy to counter the message intended from a particular photo.

Hence starting from today until many years after i will refrain myself from giving....no ..branding my pictures with titles that may only distract the viewers, until the day where i see myself as a full fledged photographer of Mr,Jafni's standards then only i'll think otherwise.

CHOWIE PEOPLE >.<

Introduction

Helo everyone, Eddy Izuwan here, the whack job photographer wanna be who doesnt really have the time for what he wants to do. Anyways this blog is specifically created for me to update on my daily lifes, and more importantly somewhere i can put in my photos for public view.

My good friends had been asking me to go for a more professional approach, such as creating my own website and such, but i personally do prefer to start of this way, as going by such an approach is a little bit too bold in my opinion for my level of amateurness. That's it then, i'll try my best to upload as many work as i can over here, occasionally inclusive of other design work which i am currently working on.
